Gymnastics Unlimited Class Information
PreSchool Classes
The
first five years of child's life are the most formative in the development
of a positive self-image along with motor and perceptual skill. Future learning
potential are taking root. With this in mind, we take special care to provide
an environment that will promote a positive self-image using gymnastics
to develop a child's proficiency in a variety of movements
Our program employs the use of the Olympic events along
with hoops, balls, ladders, mini-trampolines and other small apparatus
to offer a wide range of movement and motor fitness skills. Theses classes
provide activities to help develop eye-hand coordination, perceptual
motor skills, cognitive development and muscle tone while learning gymnastics. Children will develop
confidence in themselves and in their movement.
Preschool classes are divided in 4 levels. Levels include Parent & Tot, A–entry level, B- experienced and C- advanced.
Parent & Tot
18 Mos.- 2 Years. At the toddler level, we ask the parent to participate and aid the child's learning process.
Level A
Entry Level. This class is without the parent, preparing the child to be more self-directed. Minimum age for this class is 3 years.
Level B
These classes continue the progressive skill learning started at the earlier age group but adds additional skills suited to their level. Children must have passed Level A or have previous experience from another program
Level C
Children must have passed Level A & B classes or have previous gymnastics expierience from another program. If from another program, teacher must evaluate your child before signing up for Level C. This class time is lengthened to an hour to accommodate the child's longer attention span and increased skill level.
All classes are 45 minutes
except for level C, which runs for 1 hour.
Classes start with a
basic warm-up to music, then tumbling skills follow with a mini-circuit on
the FLOOR EXERCISE AREA. A second obstacle course follows using the large
apparatus (bars, beams, trampolines & vault). Ladders, mats, foam stairs and other preschool equipment are used to
make the class safe and age appropriate. Lesson plans are implemented
every 2 weeks with themes and decorations to encourage an atmosphere
of fun and learning. Some of our theme include: Circus Week, A Pirate’s
Life, Gymnastic Space Odyssey, Western Hoedown, Under the Sea and much
more!!
Our program includes an end of the year Class Exhibition. This is held during your child's last class in the spring.
All of our students skills are evaluated twice a year with their Skill Poster given out at the end during their class exhibition.
