Welcome to our Toddler Rooms!
At Whiz Kids, we have 2 classrooms dedicated to our Toddlers. A toddler may be placed in any one of the classrooms based on their age and development. Each child will move through our toddler areas as they grow and develop until they are ready to move into the Preschool Room.
Our Toddler Room provides a structured, engaging environment where children thrive together on a consistent daily schedule. Toddlers enjoy healthy morning and afternoon snacks provided by our center, shared mealtimes at tables, daily outdoor play (weather permitting), and access to toddler bathrooms to support potty training. The room encourages exploration and creative play, with toys, activity centers, and arts and crafts projects. Special experiences, like visiting animals and other hands-on activities, bring excitement and learning to each day.
Our toddler program follows The Creative Curriculum® by Teaching Strategies, a research-based, play-focused approach that supports each child’s growth and development. Toddlers engage in hands-on activities, creative play, and group experiences that promote social, emotional, cognitive, and physical skills. Children also participate in provided enrichment programs in our center including Kindermusik®, the worlds leading research-based music and movement program for children from birth to age 7, and active learning in American Sign Language. All children also have access to our gross motor room, filled with mats and equipment to support active play and physical development. Our teachers observe and assess each child’s development to plan individualized experiences that meet their unique needs while encouraging independence, curiosity, and confidence.
Toddler DD
Toddler DD in our toddler room is designed for our younger toddlers and is divided into two areas of 8 children on a 4-to-1 ratio. This layout gives children smaller, manageable spaces where they can explore, play, and interact with peers at their own pace. It encourages early social skills, cooperative play, and sharing, while still allowing teachers to provide individualized attention and guidance as children learn how to play together.
Toddler EE
The Toddler EE side of the Toddler Room is for our toddlers 2 years and up, with two groups using a 5-to-1 ratio. This area includes toddler-sized bathrooms to support and encourage potty training. This classroom encourages independent play where children engage in activities at their own pace, explore group play with peers, and build confidence through structured and self-directed learning experiences.
